Amelanchier arborea
Juneberry or Shadberry- Multi-stemmed, large shrub or small tree with a rounded crown of many small branches. Dark green leaves in summer, changing in autumn from yellow to orange-red. Vivid white flowers in clusters 5-10cm long. Berry like fruit up to 1cm, changing from green to red and finally to purplish black. Slightly sweet- the birds love them. Fruits can be used in dessert pies. Pick before the birds eat all the berries.
