Red laced Japanese weeping maple. This slow growing plant has very finely dissected, threadlike leaves. The leaves are a very bright red-purple in spring.
The foliage darkens with the heat of summer, turning green in hot climates. The leaves later put on a wonderful crimson show in autumn.
It prefers a sheltered location. Red Feathers prefers a cool, deep, light, moist soil. It would benefit from mulching and adequate summer watering.
Shelter from the drying summer heat and wind. It may benefit from light pruning in winter. Suitable for containers.
