Japonica, flowering quince- A very hardy, deciduous medium sized shrub with flowers that are pink, fading to white.
The masses of pale pink flowers form on bare branches in late winter to early spring. Makes an excellent boundary hedge or feature plant.
The flowers last well cut and placed in water. Prune back after the flowering season. The flowers are followed in summer by yellow-green fruits which are ideal for jams and jellies
